Empty Bowls sells student art for food bank benefit

HUNTINGTON – “Functional” is the best way to describe the more than 1,000 hand-thrown bowls Marshall University ceramics students had tirelessly spun out and fired in the months leading up to Empty Bowls.

Functional in the sense that, for $15, anyone could pick out a favorite and take it home for soup and cereal. Functional, in a deeper sense, that each $15 sale meant 112 meals for those in need courtesy of the Facing Hunger Foodbank. read more
