Huntington, WV (August 27, 2018) – Walmart, Bimbo Bakeries USA and Tyson Foods teamed up to donate 16,500 pounds of food to Facing Hunger Foodbank through a partnership with Feeding America® to help end hunger across the United States during Hunger Action Month.

Representatives from each of the organizations visited Facing Hunger Foodbank today to deliver the food and tour the facility. As part of this partnership, Walmart, Bimbo Bakeries USA and Tyson Foods donated 5,000 pounds of bread and 11,500 pounds of chicken that will be given to individuals and families over the coming weeks.

“We are so thankful for the incredible support from these four organizations,” said Cynthia Kirkhart, Executive Director of Facing Hunger Foodbank. “This donation will allow us to help more residents in West Virginia who are struggling to get the meals needed to live a healthy life.”

Facing Hunger Foodbank is located in Huntington, WV, where more than 35 percent of residents lack access to regular meals every day. With more than 41 million people facing hunger throughout the entire United States – including nearly 13 million children and five million seniors – supporting the food banks that serve these Americans in need has never been more important.
