Marshall fundraiser nets record for needy families

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) – An annual fundraiser involving Marshall University ceramics students has raised a record $18,000 to help feed needy families.

Marshall says in a news release that bowls made by students and other volunteers brought in more than $15,000 at the Empty Bowls event earlier this month, while nearly $2,500 was raised at a silent auction.read more
