HANKSGiving: Songs for Sustenance

Huntington, WV – Total Media Radio and Kentucky Bluebird Grill & Pub are joining forces to highlight local music at a benefit concert that serve as a fundraiser for Facing Hunger Foodbank and River Cities Harvest. The concert, better known as HANKSgiving: Songs for Sustenance, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8th and doors will open at noon for the event at Kentucky Bluebird Grill & Pub in Ashland. Live music sets are planned throughout the day, along with raffles and a silent auction that will wrap up at 8:45 p.m. and include a wide variety of donated items with proceeds benefiting both of the hunger relief organizations.

“With the government shutdown having not been resolved people are in need of a way to take action,” explained Total Media Group Media Consultant Scott Frasure, who’s helping to launch the event next month. “What a better way to do so than by making a donation that will serve as admission to a great show featuring all of the top talent in the tri-state.”

A monetary donation or donating non-perishable goods will serve as admission to the event, which is scheduled to wrap up at 11 p.m. after the Shelby Lore Band plays on the Kentucky Bluebird stage. Other music acts scheduled to perform include Eddie Riffe, Wakita Young, Jayce Turley, Noel Tarr and Rick Potter, all of which will be a part of a Songwriter Roundtable. Other acts scheduled to perform are Holly Forbes, Huck Brown, Rob McNurlin, Whiskey River Band and Cody Lee Meece.

“During these uncertain times for everyone, any effort to join communities together to support one another, as well as our neighbors needing food resources, is an effort that will result in transformational outcomes for those who will have food at the holidays,” Facing Hunger Foodbank Chief Executive Officer Cynthia Kirkhart said. “We are grateful for this partnership and the gracious giving it generates! In all things, truly, #togetherwearefacinghunger.”

The event is named after Total Media’s local country station Hank FM (105.7 on the FM radio dial). A video crew from KoolTV will be on hand to record the performances and highlights throughout the day of the event. The video from the event will be rebroadcast at a later date on KoolTV’s YouTube channel.
