Food donations sought before concert to help Facing Hunger Foodbank

HUNTINGTON — SMG Huntington, a leader in venue management, and 711 Label Group team up with Facing Hunger Foodbank for a canned food donation drive outside the arena on Saturday, Dec. 8. Patrons attending the Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch concert Saturday are encouraged to bring with them a nonperishable item to donate to Facing Hunger Foodbank.

“We understand the additional challenges our local foodbanks encounter during the holidays and we are excited to have the opportunity to support their efforts and to give back to our community,” said Cindy Collins, General Manager, SMG.

“Facing Hunger foodbank is proud to be working with SMG Huntington, 711 Label Group, Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch to help raise food donations and awareness about hunger in our community” said Cynthia Kirkhart, Executive Director of Facing Hunger.

711 Label Group reached out to Feeding America expressing an interest in giving back during the holidays in conjunction with concerts they are promoting across the U.S. during late November/December including the stop in Huntington, WV.

As a member of Feeding America, Facing Hunger Foodbank will be at the downtown Huntington Arena Saturday, Dec. 8, for the Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch concert. The foodbank is collecting non-perishable food items on the Arena Plaza before the concert.

“The Holidays are a very busy and demanding time for the Foodbank. As we fight the war on hunger daily, we see the extra demand the Holiday season and want everyone to have what they need for a warm and healthy Holiday meal” said Ms. Kirkhart.
