Facing Hunger Foodbank is teaming up with KEE100, Huntington's radio home for the Tri-State's Number 1 hits, for the Third Annual Peanut Butter Drive. This food drive helps address the growing issue of hunger in our community by providing families and individuals with protein-packed peanut butter. To date, the Peanut Butter Drive has collected more than 6,000 jars.
Through December 3rd, peanut butter jar donations will be accepted at Facing Hunger Foodbank, located at 1327 7th Avenue, Huntington WV 25701. KEE100's studio will also serve as a drop off location at 134 4th Avenue, Huntington WV 25071.
To bolster the community's participation, KEE100 has spurred a friendly competition among local high schools and will award the school that collects the most peanut butter with a school dance hosted by KEE100's morning hosts Dave and Jenn. The dance will be DJed by the station's afternoon host and Program Director, Jim Davis. The contest is open to any school in the Tri-State Area. Local school principals can visit www.kee100.com to register their school to participate. The winning school will be chosen based on an average of peanut butter jars per student. The Peanut Butter drive collected over 1,00 jars of peanut butter from area schools last year.
