What is Hunger Action Month?
September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide campaign mobilizing the public to take action in the fight against hunger. Facing Hunger Foodbank, along with Feeding America's network of more than 200 member food banks, will work to bring greater attention to the critical issue of hunger in America and promote ways for the community to get involved.
Join us this September. As individuals, charities, businesses and government, we all have a role to play in feeding those in need.
How can I make a difference?
By taking action online and in your community, you can be part of the solution to end hunger in our community. Here are a few ways to get involved:
Go Orange for Hunger!
Orange is the official color for Hunger Action Month. On Thursday, September 2, 2014, we encourage everyone to show your support by wearing orange! You can show your support online, too! Change your Facebook and Twitter profile orange.
30 Ways in 30 Days
Print off our 30 Ways in 30 Days Calendar and be a voice in the fight against hunger every day of the week! From Tuna Drive Tuesday to donating your coffee money, there are countless ways to get involved. Put the calendar on your fridge at home or in the office to get your family and friends involved.
Write messages on paper plates and let your friends on social media know how you are taking a stand in the fight against hunger. Post a picture of you with your plate on Facebook and Twitter with hashtags such as #HungerActionMonth2014 #HAM2014 #FacingHungerFB or #EndHungerNow. Don't forget to tag us!
Visit the food bank and become a volunteer during September and all year long.
